The Hector Foundation was established by Fred M. Hector Jr. in 2017, and it will continue in accordance with his will, effective after his passing in June of 2019.

Our Mission

To continue the Hector family legacy of giving by helping local nonprofits enhance the lives of ordinary, everyday people in need, including military veterans, youth, the disabled, and others less fortunate in the greater Fargo–Moorhead area.

Our Values

At the Hector Foundation, our values are rooted in integrity, community, and excellence. We take great pride in conducting our business in an ethical, honest, and transparent manner.

The Hector Foundation focuses on bringing people together in the community to work at improving the lives of those in need within the Fargo–Moorhead region. Though extraordinarily gifted and hard-working, Fred liked to be considered an ordinary person, a man who did what ought to be done. He lived his life humbly and quietly, with no incentive or desire to stand out. He was proud of his community, and he wished to help the common people without means live productive and fulfilling lives.
